Pastor Gary Moats
On 21 June 2020 First Baptist Church voted and are excited to announce that Pastor Gary Moats has accepted the call and is now the new pastor of First Baptist.  He will be re-joining us in the near future as he prepares for their move to the last frontier.  We are so thankful for their humble hearts and for listening to the voice of our Lord.
David Nye
Hello, my name is David and I am blessed to be married to my bride Shirley of 27+ years.  We have 5 children Sarah, David, Stephen, Jacob and Jonathan ranging from 26 to 5 years of age.  We are a military family and have moved a bunch but I have recently retired from the Air Force after 28+ years.  Anchorage  is our home, with my wife’s family and our adult children living here with a couple grands, keeps us anchored.  My road to salvation was off and on again.  I went to church as a teen in the bus ministry, and was baptized even.   However you would never have known it, crazy high school years.   Joined the military and stationed overseas lived in the world and was a part of it, although my neighbor in the dorm tried to reach me.  It took a wonderful godly young lady to get my attention.   I met Shirley in San Diego when on leave and began to go back to church with her, married a few years later and then truly gave my heart to our Lord when I was 28, baptized again this time once and for all, and never looked back.
Kyle Miller
Hello, my name is Kyle. I have been married to my wife Steffanie for 14 years. We have 5 fantastic children (Crimzine, Alexander, Hayden, Jaxson, and Quintyn). We are all born and raised right here in Alaska and at least my wife and I do not ever see ourselves leaving. First Baptist Church of Anchorage has been my family church since I was born. My maternal grandfather served in the United States Air Force and was stationed with his family here in Anchorage in 1970. Both of my grandparents have served faithfully at First Baptist, with my grandfather being called home in 2009. Although I was raised in the church, I like so many went my own way after high school. It would not be until many years later, that the Lord would use my daughter to bring both me and my wife back to Him. Truly it was during this time that I felt the conviction to set the priorities in my life. Today I faithfully serve both as a Deacon and as the Worship Leader at First Baptist. I have also served as leader to our church’s chapter of the Royal Ambassadors boy’s missions education group. The one thing that I believe more than anything else, especially when I look at all the members at First Baptist, is that the Lord will use you regardless of the stage of life you are in. How he uses you may change over time, but you can always be of service to the King of Kings.
